Personality research,
applied organically

Decades of research prove that personality shapes who we connect with and why it lasts. The problem was always making it usable without forcing people through 100-question questionnaires. We fixed that. Our profiling is built on the OCEAN model, the most validated personality framework in psychology, but you'll never fill in a form.

Personality plays a role in satisfaction

Different personality traits can influence how much we enjoy interacting with others. For example, more Agreeable people tend to report greater satisfaction in their relationships, and they are also more likely to care about making the people around them happier. Personality isn't just a nice-to-have when it comes to matching. It can be an important part of explaining how much people enjoy their interactions, and why.

Similarity attracts. Complementarity sustains.

People are drawn to others who feel familiar, but lasting connection depends on complementary strengths. For example, this can manifest as equal warmth with different energy. Shared values with different styles. The science shows the best pairings aren't clones. They're counterparts. We find the ones that work and connect people based on those.

Personality shapes performance

Personality can influence how we work with others and respond to different situations. For example, conscientiousness can support follow-through, while extraversion may encourage participation and connection within groups. These differences aren't about some personality traits being better than others. They can help explain the different ways people contribute, collaborate and stay engaged over time.

How we turn this into lasting connections

Personality science is powerful. But only if you can capture it without getting in the way. We made the research invisible, and the results obvious.

Conversational profiling

Through a natural WhatsApp conversation, our AI reads signals across personality dimensions: how you describe your ideal session, how flexible you are on timing, whether you lean competitive or social. No forms. No 100-question surveys. Just a conversation.

Drip-collected refinement

A couple of quick questions after each session sharpen your profile over time. "Would you play with this person again?" and "What made it click?" tell us more than any personality test. Behavioural signals like rebooking speed, no-shows and partner preferences layer on top automatically.

Multi-dimensional fit

We don't optimise for one thing. Every connection balances multiple dimensions simultaneously, because the right one is never just about skill or just about schedule. It's the full picture.

Nikita Mikhailov is a Business Psychologist specialising in personality and individual differences, and ClubLe's psychometrics advisor. He is the psychologist behind the personality layer that helps ClubLe connect the right people, not just the available ones.

Nikita is co-author of Personality: A User's Guide (Robinson, 2024), written with Georgi Yankov. Robert Hogan, founder of Hogan Assessment Systems, described it as the best introduction to personality psychology he has read. The book is the manual nobody gives you at birth: how to read your own traits, empathise with people wired differently, and put those differences to use.

A member of the British Psychological Society, Nikita runs Goodness of Psychology, where he works with individuals, couples and teams to build understanding of individual differences. His clients range from Fortune 500 companies to start-ups, and he has taught on the MSc Organisational Psychology course at City, University of London. He is a regular speaker and podcast guest on psychometrics, personality and the occasional dark triad.

Nikita brings extensive experience in developing and working with personality assessments to ClubLe. His work is grounded in a simple idea: that being more curious and less judgmental about ourselves and others leads to better relationships, better conversations and more effective collaboration. At ClubLe, that idea becomes product.
